To ensure that we maintain the highest level of service and portrait quality, Tiffany Smith Photography only books a limited number of sessions per month. Sessions are booked several months in advance, but we can occasionally accommodate last minute bookings, as well.

With over 20 years combined experience specializing in newborn photography and safety, Tiffany and her assistant are industry leaders in the Chattanooga area. You want an educated, well trained and professional photographer and staff to handle the most important little human in your life.

The studio is also fully stocked with hundreds of organic props, premium textiles, wraps, hats & headbands for your use. We customize each session to fit your vision and to match the colors of your home.

 MATERNITY & NEWBORN SESSION FAQs

  • The sooner the better. There are some weeks where we can easily fit someone into the schedule last minute. There are more weeks that we just can't. We only take a limited number of newborn sessions per month, and for that reason, we often stay pretty booked up in advance. If baby is very close to arriving or just born, don't panic! Send us a message and we will see what we can do.

  • As as general rule, under 14 days is best. But we've photographed many babies past that age with ease.

  • Don't worry, we've covered all the bases! Once you book a newborn session with us, we start by sending you a questionnaire to get to know you and what you are looking for a little better. Once that's completed, we will send you a prep guide, which will detail what you can do to make your session go as smoothly as possible. This guide includes simple tips on how to prepare baby, what to do and not to do the day of the session, what to bring (if anything), etc.

  • Not much. Unless you have something specific that you want used, such as a family heirloom, hat, blanket, etc. Our studio is stocked full of goodies specifically for newborns. We have a wide variety of wraps, baskets, blankets, hats, hair bows & headbands, backdrops, and props. We also keep a cart full of all the essentials for baby including diapers and wipes.

  • On average, about 2 hours. Sometimes less, and sometimes a little more. It all depends on baby and how he/she is responding. The baby is in control here. We want them to be comfortable and happy at all times, so for that reason, a newborn session is something you cannot rush. We often have babies come in and never realize what is happening. They just sleep right through their modeling debut! But there are other occasions when we do have to take the time to feed and soothe baby. Every session is different.

  • Yes. Sessions can absolutely include some photos with the proud big brother or sister, as well as with parents. If you opt not to, that's fine. We will spend more time on baby's photos.
